$725 towards $1,000

Teodora "Teddy" Topete returned to her heavenly home on September 9, 2017 after her valiant two month battle. Her firm belief in God and devotion to her loving family ultimately gave her peace during this trying time.

Teddy married Roberto Topete, on September 21, 1975 in Bronx, NY and together they were blessed with a loving family. She raised her three sons with patience, love and humility. And with her constant dedication to each of her children, she taught them how to be humble, respectful and persevering.

Rarely taking a sick day, Teddy worked as a senior school lunch helper with the NYC Board of Education and was an active DC37 union member. Creating a family anywhere she went. She was loved by everyone she worked with and will be remembered for her kind and caring spirit. Teddy went into work every day with love in her heart, and because of her pride and determination, she was able to support and maintain her family.

Gentle and soft-spoken, Teddy always had time to help anyone in need, especially those closest to her. In 2012, she ran a 5K to support Turner Syndrome Foundation and her eldest granddaughter, Faith, who is affected by the syndrome. To honor her legacy, in lieu of flowers we ask for donations to be made to the Turner foundation that will help provide knowledge to those who endure Turner Syndrome.

She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Teddy is survived by her husband, Roberto; her sons Roberto, Freddie and Rudy; her daughter in law Stephanie; her granddaughters Faith M and Lucy R; her brothers Felix and Guicho; her sister Minerva. She is preceded in death by her parents Aureilo & Juana.

A wake is scheduled for Thursday September 14, 2017 at the Cobble Hill Chapels located at 171 Court St. Brooklyn NY. The viewing hours will be 2-5 & 7-9pm. Teddy will be buried at the Greenwood Cemetery following the 9:45a.m mass at St. Pauls RC Church on September 15, 2017.
